Hopeless Shameful Despair

This vibe field includes hopelessness, apathy, despair, misery, guilt, blame, shame, and humiliation.

When you are without hope, there is no reason to try. That is why hopelessness leads to apathy. Why should I try? It’s hopeless. We are beyond grief, lowered into the pits of hell, and wallowing in our own disgusting filth.

Here is poverty and joblessness. Misery is widespread. The future looks dark. You feel despair, blame, humiliation, guilt, and shame.

I have fallen into a hopeless pit of despair. There is no hope for me, so there is no reason to try anymore. I have been condemned to eternity.

I feel isolated. I have destroyed everything that was ever meaningful in my life. Others might get help, but my case is hopeless.

There is no fight left in me. The pressure holding me down is far greater than my energy can fight, so I give up.

I can’t get out because I don’t believe I can and besides that, I don’t deserve to get out. I have lost my will to live.

Nobody is going to help me. They can’t even look me in the face.

Now I am at the bottom floor of this vibe. I have completely given up everything. There is nothing but shame and humiliation. Life is miserable. Even God despises me.

There is little if any energy.

Here is guilt and shame leading to destruction.

Without outside assistance, there is a tendency to continue the downward spiral.

The yin pole is completely giving up everything.

The yang pole is self-destruction.

The strangest thing is that people who seemingly have everything will also fall to this vibe field of misery.

Let’s just leave now because we can. Let’s just decide to leave. Let’s visit the next higher vibe field, Sad Grieving Regretful to escape this hopelessness.

Quotes and Memes

Others might get help, but my case is hopeless.

The sixteenth century poet-mystic, St. John of the Cross, coined the term “dark night of the soul” to evoke the kind of spiritual crisis that leads us from profound unknowing to radiant transformation.

“Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.” From a signpost in the Inferno of Dante Alighieri’s 14th-century epic poem, “The Divine Comedy”.

“The further you fall into the pit, the more you attract the abuse of others.” ~ Peace LJ

“When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds. I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.” ~ Wendell Berry

Raise the Vibe

You can release guilt with this simple thought. Repeat it over and over. “I did the best I could at the time. If I knew better, I would have done it. I forgive myself.”

Most people will agree that you cannot get over this vibe by yourself. You need outside help. Why? By definition, hopelessness means literally that you have no hope. If you have no hope, then there is no use in trying.

Regardless, here is a suggestion. It is safe. It cannot hurt you. Just follow along.

You fell to the bottom floor of Hopelessness. I am sorry. I forgive you.

Turn onto your back and settle facing upward. You are at the bottom of a deep cup, facing upward. There is no further down you can go. You are at the bottom. You are on your back. You are looking up.

Accept your situation totally. You may feel awful. Your energy is gone. Accept it.

Bring your attention to the field around your chest.

Say this to yourself: “I am the God of my own next breath.”

Breathe in the peace of the moment.

Let your breath go with a sound.

As you continue to breathe in the peace of the moment, when you breathe out, look up and say “I am sorry.”

In this cup, there is peace. In this cup, you can explore both your past and your future.

Look up and say these things any number of times and in any order:

  • “If there is a supreme power, I ask that power for help now.”
  • “Show me a future, no matter how sad.”
  • “I ask those higher vibes to help me now.”
  • “I surrender everything to those higher vibes.”

If you begin to cry, that’s great! Crying is the energy to leave this field.
